SURFINTERNETPINNEN

SURFinternetpinnen

SURFinternetpinnen makes managing PIN and payment terminals much easier. Traffic between the terminals goes via the SURFnet network, which makes separate connections superfluous.

What is it?

SURFnet offers the option of processing traffic from and to IP payment terminals (PIN and chip) within institutions via the SURFnet network. This means that the institution no longer requires separate ADSL or GSM connections to PIN terminals, payment terminals, soft drinks machines, etc.

This has two advantages:

  • Technical and administrative management of ADSL or GSM connections is no longer required.
  • The availability of the SURFnet IP connection is greater than that of the ADSL or GSM connections.

Who is it for?

SURFinternetpinnen is available for institutions connected to SURFnet.

The institution’s contact person can apply for SURFinternetpinnen online via SURFdashboard.(Dutch)

Technical information

PIN traffic and processing of Chipknip transactions is transported via the SURFnet network. SURFnet makes use of the Simac network (certified by Currence) to provide this service.

In addition to the SURFnet network and Simac, transporting the traffic from a payment terminal at a SURFnet-connected institution to an acquiring processor via SURFnet’s IP network requires that the institution’s network complies with the conditions set by Currence.
