SURFCONTACT

SURFcontact

SURFcontact uses high Internet speeds and especially high-definition picture quality to make videoconferencing truly lifelike.

What is it?

Videoconferencing – holding meetings remotely via the Internet – is becoming increasingly interesting as picture quality improves and the Internet gets faster. Videoconferencing in high definition quality makes remote meetings almost the same as actual face-to-face meetings.

SURFcontact makes HD videoconferencing possible in a very simple manner. Three versions are available:

  • SURFcontact Light end-point
A low-threshold and inexpensive way of getting started in high-quality videoconferencing
  • SURFcontact Light gatekeeper
    Expanding to more end-points
  • SURFcontact Plus
Using HD videoconferencing within an institution as part of the primary process and using it consistently with numerous parties outside the SURFnet target group.

SURFcontact is based on the H323 and SIP open standards for real-time communication.

Who is it for?

Institutions connected to SURFnet can make use of SURFcontact.
The institution’s contact person can apply online for SURFcontact via SURFdashboard (Dutch).
