About Enlighten Your Research

Explore benefits of network

SURFnet organizes various activities for both researchers and local ICT departments. One of these activities is the contest Enlighten Your Research (EYR). This competition gives researchers of all disciplines the opportunity to explore the benefits of the network for their research.

Past editions

In the past four years, three of these competitions have been delivered.

  • In EYR1 (2007) researchers were asked to submit a proposal for the application of one or more fixed lightpaths (national or international)
  • EYR2 (2009) aimed at promoting the use of dynamic lightpaths.
  • EYR3 (2011) focused not just on the use of SURFlightpaths, but on e-Infrastructure in general by collaborating with other infrastructure partners.

In 2012, we will start the preparations for a fourth competition.
