Getting connected to NetherLight
- Check whether the parties to which you wish to connect, can be reached through NetherLight. NetherLight can assist you with this.
- Review the NetherLight website to ensure that you understand the available facilities.
- Review the fees associated with the connection. The fees are minimal and simply help to cover the costs associated with the facility.
- Determine the colocation facilities needed. If you need rack space for your equipment contact SARA Colocation Services about their facilities.
- Send an email to aa@surfnet.nl to indicate your intention to connect to NetherLight.
- SURFnet will contact you in order to make arrangements for an engineering review. The review will be conducted by your and NetherLight’s engineers, who will meet to discuss and coordinate the technical implementation of your connection to NetherLight.
- SURFnet will send you the NetherLight Connection Agreement. You must sign this agreement before you can be connected to the NetherLight equipment.
- Sign and submit the Connection Agreement.
How to use NetherLight
Once the physical connection is in place ,you can request one or more interconnections to other connected parties. The interconnection is a connection within the NetherLight equipment that makes it possible to create an end-to-end circuit, VLAN or lambda (or combination) between the parties.
- Once connected to NetherLight, send a request for an interconnection to admin@netherlight.net.
- To build an interconnection between two or more connected parties, all parties involved will have to agree to the initiator’s interconnection request.
- Once all the circuits are in place, the NetherLight NOC will inform the connected parties that the interconnection can be set up.
