SURFnet Annual Report 2010 and SURF Annual Review 2010 now available
SURFnet’s Annual Report for 2010 has now been published, covering the organisation’s activities in the year under review. SURF has also published its Annual Overview for 2010.
In this overview the SURF organisations report the results they achieved for ICT-driven innovation in higher education and research.
The results for the Hybrid End-to-End Network, Pioneering Collaboration Environment, and Trusted Identity areas were really impressive, for example:
- The year saw the launch of GigaPort3, the innovation project that will lead, amongst other advances, to the new SURFnet7 network;
- The new SURFconext online collaboration infrastructure was launched at the well-attended SURFnet Contact Days;
- A 40 Gbit/s connection was created between NetherLight in Amsterdam and CERN in Geneva.
You can read about these, and more, in SURFnet’s Annual Report.
This year too, the three members of the SURF family – SURFnet, SURFdiensten, and SURFfoundation – have published a joint online annual review. This is a multimedia environment in which they present their most important and joint results for 2010.
