Advanced Services
This department takes care of the innovation and exploitation of (new) SURFnet services in the field of communication and information, and advanced internet applications.
Advanced Services defines existing and yet to be introduced services as well as the aftercare of services on the SURFnet network. By doing this the department is responsible for the strategic and tactical supervision and takes care of the selection and directing the subcontractors, who do the actual operational control.
Furthermore the department serves as a scout, being on the lookout for new and proven internet services, wich are interesting for the SURFnet target group. The department is contstantly innovating the already existing services. From this perspective Advanced Services is engaged with the innovation programs SURFworks and SURFnet/Kennisnet.
